The gallery has started working with Irish painter Donal Moloney.
An MFA Slade School graduate, Moloney’s paintings are meditations on absorption and daydreaming. Each incongruous scene bounds together the mundane with the resplendent through a range of fade-outs, glimpses and vignettes. Absorbed in their thoughts, the unperturbed protagonists of these paintings appear adrift in their surroundings. The factual and the fictional, the fantastical and the everyday, emerge as fragments that solidify into the painting’s surface.
In 2016, Donal was selected for ‘The John Moores Painting Prize Exhibition’ at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, where he won the John Moores Visitor’s Choice Award.
